Lillian Godone-Maresca has an innate passion for writing that she envisions as her best avenue to campaign for equality and social justice from a Catholic Social Teaching perspective and thus denounce hate in any and all of its forms, whether showing up as racism, homophobia, xenophobia, ableism, ageism, or anti-immigrant sentiments. That's exactly how she was born and raised--in a devotedly Catholic family that, on one hand, gave her everything, but on the other, in word and deed, personified social sensitivity and always placed equality and social justice way ahead of socioeconomic status and social prestige.
Therefore, Lillian Godone-Maresca made it a point and a mission to simultaneously fight against the evil of right-wing ideologies and honor her family and the unconditional selflessness of their members to the extent of total self-giving and self-denial. Her parents, E. Nydia Soracco-Maresca-Godone and Armando C.E. Godone-Signanini, now with God, her grandparents, and great-grandparents, were ahead of their times--with the clearest understanding of Catholic Social Teaching.
Because she is ProLife with no exceptions, a great portion of her work aims at proving that the fake ProLifers are labeling and slandering the true ProLife cause. In her own words, she shows that they're neither ProLife nor pro-birth. Lillian Godone-Maresca very much prefers the words of Catholic Bishop John Stowe who referred to Trump and his agenda as 'anti-life'.
She is licensed in good standing to practice law in CA. Although experienced in the fields of immigration and bankruptcy law, she finds her calling to make a difference to be best carried out through writing.
Through birth and adoption, she is a mother of eight. Her own family is to her a very powerful source of inspiration. She needs to narrate how her Mother voluntarily and happily declined medical treatment and surgeries for her cataracts and knees, thus sacrificing her own mobility and eyesight for the sake of the international adoptions of her five youngest grandkids. And how her Father's heavenly intercession solved a seemingly unsolvable problem unwarrantedly created by the U.S. Consulate in Port-au-Prince. And how very much her three oldest children have always joyfully given of themselves all along the way. She wants her family's story to be a legacy for the betterment of humankind. She has the inner fire to present it not only as a well-written inspirational narrative but as a compelling call to action.
